Trips and Visitors

We are really enthusiastic about our pupils learning outside the classroom to enhance their classroom based topics, and offer various trips to our pupils to ensure they have opportunities for life changing learning experiences beyond the classroom both outdoors and further away. Please find a list of trips and residentials that we have offered to our students.


Day Trips:
Bristol Aquarium
Steam Museum, Swindon
Fleet Air Arm Museum, Yeovil
Paultons Park, Ringwood
British Museum, London
Solar Farm, Devizes
Devizes Museum

Residential Trips:
Children in Year 4 and also Year 6 each spend 3 days away with their class and supporting teachers at either Hooke Court in Dorset, or Grittleton House near Chippenham. Both venues provide specialist activities in safe, tranquil settings, Activities include low ropes, team building, raft building and orienteering.

Local Trips:
We are blessed with many enriching sites in close proximity to the school. The local Community Bratton Orchard, Paradise Pool, The White Horse and the Stradbook Streams as well as the local roads for conducting traffic surveys and community litter picking.

Multi School Events:
We also send our pupils on multi school sporting events hosted in nearby schools, and swiming at Westbury Pool, music events at Matravers and community events like the annual Lions Concert.

Visitors:
We are always keen to host visitors into school to ererich class topics. Visitors range from Police, Fire Crew, Nurses, Vets with their collection of small animals, local experts like photographers, artists and historians. Plus, we have made strong links with Bath University’s Science Department, with their students and staff visiting us to boost the schools offering during Science Week.

All offsite activities are fully risk assessed and planned, with all staff attending DBS checked and with first aid support. The school has a dedicated Educational Visits Coordinator who ensures all trips are fully compliant and give the maximum enrichment to students attending.
