Bratton Primary School

Family & Community

As a school we believe strongly in open collaboration between ourselves and our parents, as this close working relationship helps foster greater trust, support and shared understanding. We also are very proud to build strong links with groups and organisations within the village setting.

Family Friday – parents invited into Bumblebee Class monthly to work with their children and view their recent learning
Class Assembly – parents invited into witness their children presenting during their class assembly
Meet the Teacher – a change to meet the teacher and ask any questions
Open Classroom – an opportunity to view the class environment and view recent work
Sports Day – whole school celebration and family picnic on the school field
Harvest Assembly – whole school celebration in the school hall with church leaders guest speaking
Nativity – parents of children in KS1 invited along to view this seasonal performance
Carol Concert – parents of children in KS2 invited along to Edington Priory to sing in the seasonal songs
Year 6 Leavers Celebration and Tea Party – parents invited into school to celebrate prior to children transitioning to secondary school

We also like to involve the children in wider community activities, like the seasonal events in Westbury. The school sponsors a tree each year at the Westbury Christmas Tree Festival, attending the Christmas Lights Switch-on to sing, hosting visits from Westbury Lions at Christmas time and representing the school at the annual Westbury Soapbox Derby and our students from Eco Club helping with village litter picks.Â
